Men's Cup is the only world competition in synchro aimed by men. The event is biennial and has been arranged since 2005. Recent Gay Games, World Outgames and EuroGames included competitions for men's solo, duo and team formations.

History. Men’s Cup was initiated by the Czech synchro team Krasoplavci, after meeting Swedish team Stockholm Konstsim Herr during the Olympic Games in Athens 2004. Both teams were in Athens to show the world that men also can do synchro, the only sport in the Olympic Games where only women competed.

Rules. The Men’s Cup competition is according to FINA’s Master rules, plus the extra discipline known as Multi. Multi program rule is for teams doing only free routine. Multi is for minimum four swimmers, no upper limit of numbers of swimmers. Multi has no upper time limit, and swimmers are allowed to wear goggles, caps and full body suits.

Men’s Cup Challenge Trophy. The team who obtained the highest score from the free routine in either Team, Combination or Multi win the Men’s Cup Challenge Trophy. It is considered the highlight of the Men’s Cup.
