Draughts, also known as checkers, is a classic board game played between two opponents on a square board divided into 64 squares of contrasting colors, often black and white. The game involves strategically moving one's own pieces across the board to capture or block the opponent's pieces. Each player begins with a set number of pieces (usually 12) placed on the dark-colored squares of one half of the board.
The objective of draughts is to either capture all of the opponent's pieces or block them so that they cannot make any more moves. The pieces move forward diagonally on the dark squares of the board and have the ability to capture the opponent's pieces by jumping over them if they are adjacent and there is an empty square behind them. If a player's piece reaches the last row on the opposite side of the board, it is "crowned" and gains the ability to move both forward and backward.
